Fire Alarm In Chester Township

5/12/08: At 12:41 Companies 47(Chester Township) 57(Upland) 52(Brookhaven) 68(Marcus Hook) 63(Aston Township) 61(Relance) and medic 81-7 were dispatched to 1329 Peterson Street for an automatic Fire Alarm. 57-1 made the response with a staffing of 3. 47 command arrived with nothing showing and shortly later the assignment was recalled. 

 

 Two For Today

5/11/08: At 1:51Am Companies 52(Brookhaven) 57(Upland) and 47(Chester Township) were dispatched to 4206 Edgemont Ave @ McDonalds Restaurant for an automatic Fire Alarm. At the dispatched time units were advised that the Alarm was tripped by smoking. 52 command  held the alarm to 52 and recalled 57 and 47. At 10:45Am Companies 57(Upland) 52(Brookhaven) 47(Chester Township) 45(Parkside) 63(Green Ridge) RIT 72(Aston Beachwood) and medic 45-7 were dispatched to 1216 Main Street for a building Fire Reported to be a shed. 57-2 hit the street with a staffing of 6 and arrived with nothing showing. Crews  found a Fence next to the shed burnt but out. 57 command held the assignment to units on location and recalled the balance. Minutes later all units went available.

Tag Day and a Fire Alarm

5/10/08: Members from the Upland Fire Company held a Tag day at 8th and upland Ave Today. All members did a great Job and everything went smooth. We would like to thank all the members that spend there Saturday rising money for our fire company. At 18:07 Companies 47(Chester Township) 52(Brookhaven) 57(Upland) and medic 45-7 were dispatched to 1315 Elson Road For an automatic Fire Alarm. 57-1 and 57-2 Hit the street in minutes and arrived with nothing showing. 57-10 found the doors to be locked and requested that the crews make forcible entry. After crews made entry into the building crews found smoke inside. Smoke was coming from burnt hotdogs and units went available.        

 

Two for today

5/4/08: At 10:18Am Companies 57(Upland) 52(Brookhaven) and medic 45-7 were dispatched to 103 9th Street for a Gas Leak Inside. 57-9(Smith) responded with 57-1 right behind him. As crews arrived they found there to be no gas leak inside the building, but a Haz-mat in the basement. 57-9 held it to 57 and recalled the balance. 57 wet available a short time later. At 11:12Am Companies 57(Upland) 52(Brookhaven) and medic 45-7 were dispatched to 8 Hill Street for a Fire Alarm. 57-9(Smith) responded and was advised by Fire Board that it was stream from the shower. 57-9 then held the assignment to 57 and recalled the balance. 57-1 responded and checked the building with 57-9. 57 went available at 11:17.

Two for today

5/3/08: At  13:02 Company 47(Chester township) and 57(Upland) were dispatched to 1503 Rainer Road to assist the medics with lifting. Tac 57 responded with a full staffing of 5 under the command of 57-10. Upon their arrival they assist the medics in a few different ways and went available. At 21:33 Companies 57(Upland) 52(Brookhaven) 45(Parkside) and medic 45-7 were dispatched to 900 Main Street @ Upland Woods Apartments for a Fire Alarm. 57-1 Responded with a staffing of 4 under the command of 57-14a and arrived on location with nothing showing from the exterior. 57-2 also responded with a staffing of 3 right behind 57-1.  57 command was advised by fire board that the police were reporting a tripped alarm. 57 command then held the assignment to company 57 and recalled the balance. Crews reset the alarm and went available. 

 

 

 Car Fire in Chester Township

5/2/08: At 18:26 Company 47(Chester Township) and 57(Upland) were dispatched to 1302 Elson Road for a Vehicle Fire. 57-2 Hit the street with a staffing of 5. As 57-2 arrived they found a vehicle with the engine compartment fully involved.  Crews from 57 and 47 knocked the fire down in minutes and went available.

Working Fire in Brookhaven

 5/1/08: At 9:38Am  Companies 52(Brookhaven) 57(Upland) 47(Chester Township) 45(Parkside) 50(Middletown) 65(Garden City) were dispatched to 4150 Marianne Drive for a building fire. After the dispatch Crews were notified that police were on location with Fire showing on the 2nd Floor.  57-1 hit the street with a staffing of 7 and picked up the hydrant when they arrived.  57-9a then took Man Power command and the fire was placed under control the first 20 minute mark. A great stop was made by crews from 52. Crews from 65 opened up the roof to help the interior crews. Great job by all on location crews were available from the Fire ground at 11:00Am.   

 

 

Another Building Fire in Chester Township

 4/30/08: At 23:30 Company 47(Chester Township) 57(Upland) 52(Brookhaven) 68(Marcus Hook) 63(Aston Township) and Medic 81-7 were Dispatched to 1521 Townsend Street for a building Fire reported to be Electrical. Units arrived on location with nothing showing. After checking the building the assignment was recalled due to no Fire or Smoke. Peco made the responded and crews went available.

 

Building Fire in Chester Township

4/27/08: At 13:46 Company 47(Chester Township) 57(Upland) 52(Brookhaven) and Medic 81-7 were dispatched to 1220 Rainer Road for a Building Fire.  57-1 and 57-2 both responded with a total staffing number of 8. Crews arrived with nothing showing but with smoke inside the residents. Crews ventilated the building and went available.    

 

Yet Another Fire Alarm

4/26/08: At 7:20Am Company 47(Chester Township) 57(Upland) 52(Brookhaven) 68(Marcus Hook) 63(Aston Township) 61(Reliance) 72(Aston Beech wood) and Medic 81-7 were Dispatched to 50 Milton Dr for an Automatic fire Alarm.  As 47 command arrived he reported that there was nothing showing. 57-1 responded with a staffing of 5. As 57-1 was en-route 47 command held the assignment to 47, 52, and 63. 57 then went available.    

Another Fire Alarm

4/23/08: At 13:01 Company 57(Upland) 52(Brookhaven) and Medic 45-7 were dispatched to 2 3rd Street in Upland for an Automatic Fire Alarm. The Alarm was reported to be called in by a neighbor. 57-1 made the response with a staffing of 3 and arrived on location a few minutes later with nothing showing. After crews from 57 checked the building they found it to be unattended cooking and the assignment was recalled by 57 command.   

 

 Fire Alarm

4/22/08: At 14:29 Company 47(Chester Township) 57(Upland) 52(Brookhaven) 68(Marcus Hook) 63(Aston Township) 61(Reliance) 72(Aston Beech wood) and Medic 81-7 were Dispatched to 2100 West 10th Street for a Fire-Hazmat, Natural gas Leak inside, reported to be in the basement. 57-1 responded with a crew of 4 and arrived 2nd on location. 47 command reported that he had a active gas leak. Crews were on location for a few minutes before 47 command held it to Tower 61, Engine 47 and 57-1. 57-1 remained on location for a little while before returning to the station.

 

Two For Today

04/21/08: At 05:16Am Company 47(Chester Township) 57(Upland) 52(Brookhaven) 68(Marcus Hook) 63(Aston Township) and medic 81-7 were dispatched to 105 Commerce Dr @ Flynn Company for an automatic Fire Alarm. 57-1 responded and arrived to help Check the building. After checking the building Crews found no Smoke or Fire and the assignment was recalled. At 18:30 company 57(Upland) was dispatched for Drill. At drill members reviewed RIT Rope, water Rescue gear and rope off both engines.

Three For The Day And One Is Working

04/20/08: Company 57 ran a total of three calls for the day. The first call came in as A Building Fire at 104 Elm Ave in Aston around 02:34Am. 72 command arrived and found a working fire. 57-2  made the response with a staffing of four to assist 72 with RIT.  As 57-2 arrived on location they were given orders to setup RIT operations. Company 57 was in service for about 2 hours and 30 minutes before returning to the station. At 02:38Am right after Company 57 was dispatched to assist 72 on the building Fire they received a 2nd emergency at 1 Medical Center Blvd @ Crozer Chester Medical Center for an Automatic Fire Alarm. 57-9 was notified that the alarm was tripped and the assignment was recalled. Crews then processed in to the Aston Fire. At 11:19Am company 57(Upland) 52(Brookhaven) and Medic 45-7 were dispatched to 1210 Oak Lane for an Automatic Fire Alarm. 57-9(Smith) responded and arrived on location with nothing showing. 57-1 responded with a staffing of 5 and were on location within minutes. After crews Checked the building they found it to be unattended cooking and all units went available.      

Three For The Day

04/19/08: Company 57 ran a total of three calls for the day. The first call came in as a fire alarm at 900 main street at 19:33. Chief Smith responded direct to the scene to find nothing showing from the exterior. 57-1 responded shortly after with a full crew. A crew from 57-1 investigated to find a pull station activated on the first floor. After resetting the alarm the company made themselves available. A couple hours later  company 52(Brookhaven) was dispatched to the 3400 block of 11th street for a brush fire. Chief Montella advised fireboard that the call was in Upland's local and an engine was dispatched out of 57. 57-2 responded to the scene and crews extinguished the fire and made themselves available. Just minutes after returning to station 57 was dispatched again to 505 Front St. for the trash fire. Chief Smith responded direct and reported the fire to be out. 57-2 responded and crews checked the area to find nothing evident. Company 57 went available and returned to the station.

Brush Fire In Chester Township

04/17/08: At 20:37 Companies 47(Chester Twp.) & 57(Upland) were dispatched to 98 Incinerator Rd. for the bush fire. Tac-57 under the command of Chief Smith responded to the scene, followed by 57-2 for water supply. Upon arrival crews had a large pile of debris. Crews made a quick knock and soaked the down the pile to keep it from flaring up later in the night. 47-9 placed the fire under control and crews wrapped up. Company 57 returned to the staion and put the trucks bak in servic. 57 went off radio at 21:27.

 

57 To Cover 40

04/15/08: At 17:48 the company was dispatched to cover company 40(Boothwyn). Engine 57-2 left the station 17:55 with a full crew, and arrived at Boothwyn at 18:13. Crews sat in station while Upper Chichester(Reliance, Boothwyn & Ogden), Lower Chi Chester & assisting companies fought a fre in the Arrowhead Court Aprtments. Boothwyn second cover piece arrived from Glauster County, NJ. shortly after 57-2's arrival. The cover companies were made availble at 18:54 and 57-2 returned to Station 57. 

D.O.A., All Hands Working In Upland & RIT

04/14/08: At 09:58 the company was dispatched to assisted the medical examiner with lifting. Tac-57 responded and arrived on location in just a few minutes. Firefighters assisted to M.E. and was made available and off radio at 10:15 by 57-9A(Johnson). At 12:05 Companies 57(Upland), 52(Brookhaven), Rescue 47Chester Twp.), 45(Parside) & Medic 45-7 were dispatched to 15 Scott Ln. for the residential dwelling in the area. 57-1 under the command of 57-9A responded within minutes of the dispatch. On location 9A reported heavy smoke from 1132 Woodside Ave. Firefighters J. Taylor & W. Fraim made an attack from the front door with an 1 3/4" line, while a crew from 45 attack frm the rear. 9A added Truck-63(Green Ridge) & RIT-72(Aston-Beechwood) to the response. Crews knocked down the fire in a matr of mintes, and then check the 2nd floor for extension. A crew from 63 ventilated the roof while crews from 57, 52 & 45 check for extension which was negative. 9A placed the fire under control and going into overhaul with all hands working. 9A then held the asignment to 57, 52, 45 & the cover companies 49(Milmont Park) & 68(Marcu Hook-Trainer). After securing the apparatus all companies were released.   Company 57 went off radio at 13:58. 57 was dispatched for another call at 15:58 to assist Co. 72 with RIT. A few minutes after the dispatch 72-9(Eusden) held the assignment to Truck-63 & Tac-72. 57 went off radio at 16:00.

Accident & AFA

04/09/08: At 08:42 Companies 57(Upland) & 52(Brookhaven) along with medics from 45(Parkside) and Crozer EMS were dispatched to Upland Ave. and W. 21st St. for an accident with injuries. Upon dispatch it was noted that it would be a motorcycle into a brick wall. 57-9A(Johnson) responded to the scene to find a moped into a garage, with the motorist having an injury to the right leg and no need for fire appartus. 57-9A cleared the scene at 08:56. Less than 15 minutes later at 09:11 Companies 47(Chester Twp.), 52(Brookhaven), 68(Marcus Hook Trainer F.D.), 57(Upland), 63(Green Ridge), 61(Reliance) & 40(Boothwyn) were dispatched to 90 Commerce Dr. for the automatic fire alarm. 57-9A(Johnson) advised there was nothing showing from the exterior of the building while en-route to the station. 57-1 responded to the scene and picked up the hydrant when going on location. After crews investigated to find it to be a tripped alarm, the assignment was recalled. Company 57 cleared the scene and return to the station and was off radio 09:29.

Fire Alarm @ CCMC

04/08/08: At 17:39 Companies 57(Upland), 52(Brookhaven) and 45(Parkside) were dispatched to 1 Medical Center Blvd. for the automatic fire alarm. 57-9(Smith) arrived shortly after the dispatch to find two bags of popcorn left unattended while cooking. 57-1 responded and went on location shortly after. Under the command of 5-79 the assinment was held to 57 & Engine 45. Crews removed the bags from the room and were made available at 17:58.

Drill

04/07/08: At 18:30 members reported to the station for its weekly drill. This weeks drill was on the use of the portable hydrant and stretching hose lines. Members used several different diameter hoses to complete the scenarios they were given. After spending some time on the scenarios the hose lines were charged and let go out of control. Members then learned how to gain control of a line if this was to ever happen on a scene.

 

Building Fire In Brookhaven

04/06/08: At 19:32 Companies 52(Brookhaven), 57(Upland), 47(Chester Township) and 50(Middletown) were dispatched to 121 Charles Ave for a building fire. 57-1 responded with a crew of 5, followed shortly after by 57-2 with a crew of 3. Crews from 52 & 57 checked the interior of the building with the thermal imaging cameras to find nothing in the ceilings or walls. 52-9(Montella) held the assignment to 52, and 57 went available at 19:50.
